Bandai Namco and developer CyberConnect2 revealed at today’s Anime Expo 2023 a Special Story Mode trailer for their upcoming game Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections. The story mode is also featuring two game’s original characters, Nanashi and Merz, as it follows the original story of Boruto, who must prevent the start of the fifth great ninja war.
Nanashi is a navigator from the popular online game Ninja Heroes, and Merz, on the other hand, is a mysterious man planning to start a war. These characters play key roles in the storyline of the Special Story Mode. Revolving around Boruto and the events that unfold when he meets Nanashi, their encounter will finally lead to a conflict that eventually engulfs the entire Shinobi World. The mode hints at an unexpected turn of events, as Naruto is seen attacking Sasuke in the unveiled trailer.
More details about the game, including its release date, are expected to be revealed at a later date.
