During yesterday’s Dengeki Bunko 30th Natsu no Saiten Online 2023 livestream, Kadokawa showcased a new teaser visual and trailer for the anime adaptation of Kuji Furumiya’s Unnamed Memory light novel series. Previously scheduled to broadcast later this year, the anime has been postponed to 2024 due to “production circumstances,” as Kadokawa stated.
Kazuya Miura is directing the anime at ENGI, while Deko Akao is in charge of the series composition. Chika Nōmi is responsible for adapting the original character designs by chibi for the anime series. Akito Masuda is composing the music.
Kuji Furumiya first serialized Unnamed Memory on the novel posting website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in September 2012. It was later acquired by ASCII Media Works, who published the series with illustrations by Chibi under their Dengeki no Shin Bungei imprint. As of 2023, there are six volumes to the Light Novel.
The series follows Oscar, a prince who climbs a deadly tower in hopes that the Witch of the Azure dispels his curse of killing any woman he takes for a wife. However, he instead falls in love with the beautiful witch, Tinasha, and wants to marry her as she can resist his curse! Tinasha isn’t keen on the idea but agrees to live with Oscar in the royal castle for a year while researching the spell placed on the prince. The witch’s pretty face hides several lifetimes of dark secrets, however…
Yoshiki Nakajima is voicing the protagonist Oscar and Atsumi Tanezaki is voicing Tinasha, the witch he falls for.
