Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Nobunaga’s Ambition series, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening, the 16th entry in Kou Shibusawa’s historical simulation franchise, officially launches digitally on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Players of Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening step into the shoes of a daimyō, a powerful Japanese leader. Tasked with managing various facets of their clan such as economy, diplomacy, and military might, with the ultimate goal of unifying Japan. The game unfolds on a fast-changing map, demanding players to adapt and strategize effectively to achieve their ambitions.

In this riveting simulation, tactics evolve as players gain control over larger territories. The complex dynamics between daimyō and officer provinces come into play, with province war tactics proposed by the regent, or provincial leader. These tactics range from joint offensives and ranging attacks to troop bolstering and feint strategies, requiring players to make prudent choices in selecting their regents to outmaneuver enemy forces.
Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening revives the popular siege feature, reinvented in an entirely new form. With a single map hosting varying terrains and distinct castles, dynamic sieges introduce a novel layer of strategy. The players must wisely decide their attack routes and defensive deployments during these encounters.
The game also introduces the roles of Council Officials, which comprise Conservators and Overseers, each having specific influence and responsibilities within the player’s clan. These roles add strategic depth, shaping clan policies and clan-wide actions.
Commemorating the series’ 40th Anniversary, the game incorporates additional features including landmarks and achievements that impact strategy, a wide variety of scenarios, events, policies, and an editing function allowing customization of officer status, music, scenarios, and creation of new clans.
