Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon Unveils New CG Story Trailer

0

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment released a new trailer for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, previewing the game’s story and CG cutscenes.

The trailer gives us another good look at the bleak and desolate world of Rubicon 3 as even on this far-off planet war rages on. The cutscene briefly details a unit of Armored Cores from Unit 617 to 620, each being destroyed in combat brutally. At the same time a pair of figures are looking at what seems to be the remains of 617 the last, and barely surviving member of the unit who was incredibly damaged during the battle.

As the trailer ends it then continues to focus on the damaged 617. before one of the figures says “621, I’ll give you a reason to exist”, before cutting to an Armored Core. It is implied from this trailer that humans are being sent to an endless conflict by corporations once again, but this time those too hurt to function as humans are merged with the body of an Armored Core to continue fighting as a human-machine hybrid.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon launches on August 25 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
