NetEase’s upcoming post-apocalyptic MMORPG Ashfall is hosting a closed beta test on August 3 for mobile and PC in North America. Those who get to test the game during the two-week closed beta will enter an environment set after humanity was devastated by nuclear war. The war was launched by rogue AI, and you are one of the survivors in the harsh new reality.
Ashfall takes visual inspiration from Eastern culture and boasts a musical score composed by Hans Zimmer (Oscar-winning composer of multiple movie soundtracks including Gladiator and the Pirates of the Caribbean series), and Steve Mazzaro and Inon Zur (musical producers on the Fallout series.)
The closed beta test will support crossplay between mobile and PC while the game is said to include a lot of multiplayer content just like any other MMORPG. But the game also has a bunch of solo content if you prefer challenging it solo. The beta test is currently available for sign-up via HERE.

Ashfall is an open-world MMORPG, focusing primarily on shooting mechanics. Players get to explore this war-torn world, searching for resources in a world that has barely any left to share.
You will encounter various dangerous beasts and horrifying scenery from the war, scavenging for weapons, and write your own post-apocalyptic story. You can also enjoy the game with a friend or two, as the game supports online multiplayer with crossplay across iOS, Android, and PC.
The world was torn asunder after a nuclear war between humanity and machines, leaving the world covered in sand, dust, and with remnants of old humanity. The game is said to feature Asian elements, implying that the setting this time around is based in Asia, a place not commonly explored in post-apocalyptic scenarios, as it is usually Western countries depicted with this setting.
As the game is a shooter, expect to take advantage of the terrain with a host of unique firearms, explore unique dungeons, and also unlock different skills that raise your crafting, collecting, shooting, and movement abilities, with you being able to freely allocate these however you choose.
