High Card Season 2 anime has revealed the first trailer confirming that the series will debut in January 2024. The franchise has also confirmed a stage adaptation titled High Card the STAGE for January with more information yet to come.

Based on a mixed media project by TMS Entertainment, Homura Kawamoto, and Hikaru Muno, the series navigates the riveting journey of protagonist Finn as he and his companions seek to reclaim the mysterious Cards that grant superhuman abilities.

The first season introduced us to Finn, an orphan who turns to a casino in a desperate bid to save his financially beleaguered orphanage. In this world, 52 unique X-Playing Cards bestow varying superhuman powers and abilities, allowing individuals to access the dormant potential of the “buddy” within them. Recruited by the secret group of players High Card, Finn and his crew work under the orders of the king of Fourland to collect these scattered cards, leading double lives as employees of the luxury car manufacturer, Pinochle.

The upcoming season promises an escalation in the storyline, as revealed in the recently unveiled first promotional video. The story takes a significant turn when the ominous Black Knight, who once took the lives of Finn’s family, reappears before him. As hinted at in the trailer, this season will delve deeper into the intensifying feud with Fourland Kingdom’s prominent mafia organization, the Klondike Family
