The fourth anime film based on Kōhei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia manga series is officially greenlit! The film, My Hero Academia: The Movie (working title), was revealed along with a teaser visual and a trailer.

The news was officially unveiled during the “Welcome Back, Deku! UA Special Stage” event held in Tokyo at Tachikawa Stage Garden on August 6. Like its predecessors, the upcoming movie will feature an entirely original story penned specifically for the film. Details regarding the movie’s release are expected to be announced at a later date.

The teaser visual features the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya in its ragged hero costume, and a large side profile of All Might in the background. Series creator Kōhei Horikoshi, who has served as general supervisor and original character designer for the previous three films, will continue in the same role for the fourth. The setting for the new movie is a society in ruins, aligning with the current timeline of the TV anime.
