At yesterday’s COMIDAY26 event in China, G-MODE and Plus81 revealed Shinjuku Soumei, a new mystery visual novel created by Christmas Tina’s writer Tomo Kataoka and illustrator Kohaku Sumeragi. While details regarding platforms and a specific release date have not been officially announced, a recent tweet from G-MODE featured a release window for Spring 2024.
Shinjuku Soumei centers on an undertaker, who can wield powers of immortality and hear the voices of the dead. Utilizing these abilities, the protagonist performs dangerous funerals in the bustling city of Shinjuku. Accompanying him is an astral girl, whom he encounters in Shinjuku, and who provides support throughout his journey.
Questioning the value of life in a city where life and death intersect, the game also comes with the catchphrase “We bury life in this town.” A short reveal trailer of the game is available to view on Bilibili.
