Bandai Namco revealed during Gamescom that the latest in the Tekken series, Tekken 8 will be launching on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on January 26, 2024!
The game’s release date was actually revealed slightly earlier due to a reported leak from the Microsoft Store, though now the game’s release date was officially confirmed during Gamescom along with a new trailer featuring tons of new character sneak peeks, including Kuma, Shaheen, Leo, Dragunov, Steve Fox, and Yoshimitsu!
A new feature was also released called Arcade Quest, which looks to be a new single-player mode that also introduces player avatars to Tekken, letting you customize your own original character and bring them around to battle hubs and other multiplayer features.

▍Tekken 8 Pre-Order Editions
Players can now pre-order Tekken 8, granting the Paul Phoenix avatar costume for all platforms, and for players on Playstation, a specila avatar skin for Mokujin and Tetsujin.
The multiple editions of the game from deluxe edition upwards come with a Year 1 character pass of 4 new fighters, the Kinjin avatar skin and gold suits for the base roster. The ultimate editions includes avatar skins based on the Kazama family and Kazuya Mishima, and a Classic Tekken 32 t-shirt set
There will also be a special Premium collector’s edition, housing the game in a special box with a Steelbook, collectible cards based on 8 of the initially revealed characters, Leeroy’s metal ring, a 5cm arcade token, and a special 25cm figurine of Jin Kazama that even lights up!
▍About Arcade Quest
Arcade Quest is a new type of story-styled mode featuring players and their own created avatars, letting them earn various outfits, cosmetics, and more for their player avatar, bringing them into lobbies, the dojo, and more.
The game seems to be bringing a new type of lobby and menu system to the game, similar to something like Dragonball FighterZ where players can walk around a battle hub to the game’s many features, such as the arcade mode tournament mode, versus, Iron Fist Outfitters, and more.
It also appears by playing through Arcade Quest, players can earn cosmetics not just for their avatar, but for the various Tekken characters, in some ways replacing Tekken 7’s store system and treasure battle.

Tekken 8 is an upcoming 3D fighting game and a direct sequel to Tekken 7, continuing after that game’s story as Jin Kazama gets ready for the final battle against his father Kazuya Mishima to once and for all end the Mishima bloodline. The game builds on Jin’s relationship with his family, his mother Jun Kazama, and finally comes to terms with his Devil gene power. The game will feature 32 characters on launch.
Fight against AI or human opponents along a 3D stage in this 4-button fighting game that’s been around since 1994, with several characters and the series’ staple juggling mechanics, and an emphasis on movement.
Tekken 8 features new gameplay mechanics called the Heat mechanic, letting you cancel out of certain attacks or activate them from neutral to power up your character, granting your attacks new properties, new movement options, and the ability to follow up on attacks as combo extensions. The game’s built from the ground up with re-rendered character animations and new voice lines for its characters. The game even brings back an old fighting game staple in special intros depending on the characters that show up to battle!
