Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Zatch Bell! anime series, Toho Animation announced Konjiki no Gasshu!! Eien no Kizuna no Nakama-Tachi (Zatch Bell!! Companions of Eternal Bonds) is a smartphone game that will be released for iOS and Android devices in 2023 in Japan. The game is also calling for closed beta test participants, which is set to run in mid-September.

Zatch Bell! was originally a manga by Makoto Raiku, which was serialized in Shogakukan’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Sunday between January 2001 and December 2007, with its chapters collected in thirty-three tankōbon volumes. It was later adapted into an anime television series that aired between April 2003 to March 2006. The series follows Zatch Bell, a mystical being called a Mamodo, who is partnered with a 14-year-old schoolboy Kiyo Takamine for a once-a-millennium tournament on Earth that determines the right to rule the Mamodo world as king.

Companions of Eternal Bonds is a “Bond-Building” RPG where you form a team with your favorite Mamodo (monsters) and defeat enemies by unleashing their unique skills to advance the story. In addition to the game’s original characters, new voice acting, and stories, you can enjoy various training systems such as the bond system and archetype board. The mobile project was jointly developed by Toho Animation, NEOWIZ, and GameOn.
