Dragon Ball FighterZ has made it to our list of must-play games in 2018, with the hype factor continuing its climb as the launch date looms nearer day by day.
Here at Geek Culture, excitement is likewise thick in the air – but the game only makes up part of it.
The rest comes in the form of this:
Presenting the Dragon Ball FighterZ Press Kit, where “press” is stylised as “Presz” as a nod to the game title.
Decked out in black, the box features Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan on the cover, in a hefty body that holds the promise of cool, exclusive goodies.
With careful consideration, two arms reach out to gently pry the top off. Inside, a copy of the game sits snuggly above another tightly-fixed box and a press kit release, along with a figurine packaging.
When placed together, the entire collection makes for an impressive Dragon Ball FighterZ arsenal.
Let’s take a closer look at the shiny foil packaging!
Peeling the top seal away reveals an intricately-crafted figurine of protagonist Goku, and I mean theultimate protagonist – Goku, in Super Saiyan Blue mode, which is a nice touch.
The amount of detail that went into the sculpting process is very much welcomed. From the rumpled wrinkles in Goku’s pants to the prominent muscle lines of his arms, this standing figurine is chock-full of stylish finishes.
As everyone should know by now, the Dragon Ball series features seven iconic wish-granting balls (get your mind out of the gutter!), each of which is marked by a specific number of stars.
Here, the exact design is replicated to the finest detail. The spheres are labelled respectively with different counts of stars, and alternate between a lighter and darker shade of orange when held against a source of light.
Brought in by French retailer Micromania, the Dragon Balls are decked out in a crystal body, which makes it easier for light to be reflected off its glossy surface.
Bundled exclusively for the press kit, these orange-coated spheres are also smooth and slick to the touch, as evidenced by one of our many sessions of messing around:
As the unboxing draws to an end, a picture of Goku and the relevant loot is in order.
Dragon Ball FighterZ releases on January 26, 2018, where players can finally bear witness to one epic finishing cinematic after another. Stay tuned for our detailed review real soon.
The time to Kamehameha is nigh!
