Toei announced today that they will be producing a live-action movie adaptation of the gag comedy manga series Back Street Girls. the movie will launch in Japan on 8th February
The upcoming live-action adaptation will be titled Back Street Girls -Gokudols- (Back Street Girls －ゴクドルズ－). the movie will be directed by Keinosuke Hara and will star Jin Shurasu, Reiya Masaki, Masato Hanazawa, Natsumi Okamoto, Ruka Matsuda, Akane Sakanoue, Tetsuya Sugaya, Nana Asakwa, Hitoshi Ozawa, Dori Sakurada, Ren Osugi and Kouichi Iwaki.
About the Series
Back Street Girls is a Japanese manga series created by Jasmin Gyuh. The story revolves around three yakuza men who are ordered by their boss to become an idol group, but not just any idol group, a female idol group. the series was serialized in March 2015 in Weekly Young Magazine. The series released it’s final chapter earlier this year on 15th September 2018.
