Following the success of the first stage play in 2018, the stage play adaptation of Akira Amano’s (天野明) shonen manga Katekyo Hitman Reborn! (教師ヒットマンREBORN!) is returning in Tokyo and Osaka in June. The 2nd stage play, titled as “Katekyo Hitman Reborn! the STAGE vs VARIA partⅠ”, has recently released new cast visuals.
As with the first stage play, Neeko (ニーコ), who voiced Reborn (リボーン) in the anime, also remains the cast on stage. Ryohei Takenaka (竹中凌平) reprises his role as Tsunayoshi (沢田綱吉). Most of the cast remains the same as the first play, except Hayato Gokudera (獄寺隼人) will be performed by newcomer Motohisa Harashima (原嶋元久).
The stage play will tell the story of the manga’s “VS Varia” arc, which states the battle between Tsunayoshi & his Guardians against Vongola Famiglia’s elite assassination squad, the Varia. The boss of Varia, Xanxus (ザンザス), initiate a competition with Tsunayoshi, in order to take over his position as the next-in-line boss of Vongola family.
It is scheduled to be performed at Theater 1010 in Tokyo from June 14 to 23, 2019, then at Kashiwara City Hall’s Riviere Hall in Osaka from June 27 to 30.

▍About Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Katekyō Hitman Reborn! is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Akira Amano. The manga is about a young boy named Tsunayoshi Sawada, who discovers that he is next in line to become the boss of the Vongola family, a powerful mafia organization. The organization’s most powerful hitman, a gun-toting infant named Reborn, is sent to teach Tsuna how to be a boss.
The manga’s chapters were serialized in Japan in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from May 2004 to November 2012 and have been published in forty-two tankōbon volumes. Reborn! is also one of the best-selling Weekly Shōnen Jump manga, with several volumes top sellers in Japan.
