Showcasing the boom of underground idols in Japan recently, TV anime adaptation of Auri Hirao’s (平尾アウリ) manga Oshi ga Budōkan Ittekuretara Shinu / I’d Die If the One I Support Makes It to the Budōkan (推しが武道館いってくれたら死ぬ) reveals a new PV.
Animated by Eight Bit and directed by Encouragement of Climb (ヤマノススメ) director Yusuke Yamamoto (山本 裕介), the anime will premiere on January, 2020.
▍Story
Eripiyo (えりぴよ) lives in Okayama Prefecture. She is an avid fan of an underground idol group, ‘ChamJam’. A member named Maina is her favorite and she decides to dedicate her life to support this girl by spending all of her life savings.
Among her fellow otaku, she’s simply called ‘legendary’ and everyone looks up to her for her passion. One day, Eripiyo says, ‘If Maina could sand one day on the Budoukan stage, I’ll die happy!’, and thus, Eripiyo sinks further into the world of an idol fan in support of her dream.
