TV anime adaptation of FLIPFLOPs’ supernatural suspense manga Darwin’s Game (ダーウィンズゲーム) confirmed to premiere on January, 2020. The anime’s key visual and main cast is also revealed.
The series, written and illustrated by the manga artist duo, was first launched in the January 2013 issue of Akita Shoten’s shōnen manga magazine Bessatsu Shōnen Champion and was sold over 3 million copies with 18 tankobon volumes.
The duo’s story writer Hide Fukayama (深山秀) works on the screenplays of all anime episodes.
It is also announced that Yusuke Kobayashi (小林裕介) will voice over the protagonist, Kaname Kudo (須藤要), while Reina Ueda (上田麗奈) will voice over Shuka Karino (狩野朱歌).
▍Story
The story begins when an ordinary high school student Kaname Sudo receives an invitation from a mysterious app “Darwin’s Game.” After launching the app, he got involved in battles that players are forced to fight each other using their supernatural powers. Not knowing what is happening, Kaname tries to survive through the battles against strong players attacking him. Then he learns from female player Shuka Karino that there is no way to quit the game.
