The TV anime adaptation of FLIPFLOPs’ supernatural suspense manga series Darwin’s Game (ダーウィンズゲーム) confirmed that it will premiere in Japan on 3rd January 2020. It also revealed the 2nd PV that features the opening theme song “CHAIN” by ASCA.
A preview screening of the first episode will be held at Shinjuku Wald 9 on 24th December, main cast members including Yusuke Kobayashi (小林裕介) and Reina Ueda (上田麗奈) will make an appearance.
Yoshinobu Tokumoto (徳本善信) is directing the series at Nexus, and Shu Miyama (深山秀) from FLIPFLOPs is handling the scripts. Kazuya Nakanishi (中西和也), the main animator of “ViVid Strike!”, is in charge of character design.
▍Story
The story begins when an ordinary high school student Kaname Sudo (須藤要) receives an invitation from a mysterious app “Darwin’s Game.” After launching the app, he got involved in battles that players are forced to fight each other using their supernatural powers. Not knowing what is happening, Kaname tries to survive through the battles against strong players attacking him. Then he learns from female player Shuka Karino (狩野朱歌) that there is no way to quit the game……

▍About Darwin’s Game
The original manga series by FLIPFLOPs began serialization on Bessatsu Shonen Magazine from 2013. It has been compiled into 19 volumes and reached 3.6 million copies in print to date. The manga will enter its final arc in January 2020.
