Cygames announced yesterday (26th December) that the release date of Uma Musume Pretty Derby’s (ウマ娘 プリティーダービー) is delayed to 2020. It also revealed that TV anime adaptation of “Uma yon” (うまよん) is scheduled to premiere in 2020.
The mobile game spin-off was announced in 2016. It opened for pre-registration in 2018 and was originally scheduled to release in the winter of 2018. Unfortunately, Akihiro Ishihara (石原章弘), the content producer at that time, found that the game was not ready to release and the team needed more time to polish. Then, Akihiro left Cygames in May this year and the game was postponed to an unknown date.

The operation team apologies for the delay and expresses the greatest gratitude to all the people who support the game. They are making every effort to improve the gameplay experience and hoping to release the game in 2020. In addition, the previously announced TV anime adaptation of the 4-koma manga series “Uma yon” (うまよん) is scheduled to premiere in 2020.

The story follows Special Week (スペシャルウィーク), a horse girl who moves from Hokkaido to the training center in Tokyo, aspires to be “the No.1 Uma Musume of Japan”. This mobile game spin-off is a simulation title that combines breeding of the Uma Musume (horse girls) with racing and live-performances.
