Studio Colorido’s original anime film “Nakitai Watashi wa Neko o Kaburu” (泣きたい私は猫をかぶる/ transl. Wanting to Cry, I Pretend to Be a Cat) reveals the official trailer and key visual. It is slated to premiere in Japan on 5th June 2020.
The film tells the story of a girl who transforms into a cat to get close to the boy she falls in love with. The PV previews the film’s theme song “Ghost in Flowers” (花に亡霊) by rock duo Yorushika (ヨルシカ).

▍Story
Miyo Sasaki, nicknamed “Muge” meaning “infinitely mysterious,” has a bright personality and is full of energy at school and at home. She is also in love with her classmate Kento Hinode. Miyo tries repeatedly to get Kento’s attention, but he takes no notice of her. She realizes that the only way to get close to him is to transform into a cat, but at some point, the boundary between herself and the cat becomes ambiguous.

“Ojamajo Doremi” and “Princess Tutu” director Junichi Sato (佐藤 順一) and “The Anthem of the Heart” unit director Tomotaka Shibayama (柴山 智隆) are co-directing the film at Studio Colorido. “Kimi dake ni Motetainda” anime film screenplay Mari Okada (岡田 麿里) is writing the script.
