The TV anime adaptation of Yuumikan (夕蜜柑) and Koin’s light novel series “BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.” (痛いのは嫌なので防御力に極振りしたいと思います) has confirmed a sequel after the broadcast of its final 12th episode in Japan.
Though no further details have been revealed for the new anime project, a special illustration drawn by the novel’s illustrator and original character designer Koin has been revealed.
The original “BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.”anime is animated by SILVER LINK and directed by “Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu” director Shin Ōnuma (大沼 心) and “Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya” chief director Mirai Minato (未來湊). “
Hamtaro” scriptwriter Fumihiko Shimo (志茂 文彦) is in charge of the series composition, and Kazuya Hirata (平田 和也) designs the characters. It was aired for 12 episodes in Japan from 8th January 8 to 25th March, 2020.
▍Story
The story is set in the world of VRMMO called “NewWorld Online.” The protagonist Maple, who knows little about games, divides all of her status points to defense power. She becomes very slow, can’t use magic, and is punched around even by a rabbit.
However, she finds out she feels no pain and receives zero damages. As a result of the intensive use of her points, she gets the skill of “Absolute Defense” and deadly counter skills. As “Mobile Fortress-type Rookie,” now she can disable all kinds of attacks and overcome any barriers with her “Lethal Poison” skill.
