The “Free!” anime series has announced a brand-new anime project Free!-the Final Stroke- in celebration of the series 8th anniversary today on April 26. The anime film consists of two parts with the 1st part opening on September 17, 2021 and the 2nd part opening on April 22, 2022 in Japan.
A new teaser visual and video centering the series’ protagonist Haruka Nanase are also revealed. Pre-sale tickets with a clear file as a bonus will be available in Japan’s theatres on May 28.
Kyoto Animation is again animating the new anime film, following its TV anime aired in 2013, 2014 and 2018. The series has also inspired an anime “film High Speed! Free! Starting Days” which opened in December 2015 in Japan. A compilation film encompassing the third season, titled “Free! Road to the World – the Dream,” debuted in July 2019.
