The TV anime adaptation of Aya Kanno’s dark fantasy manga Requiem of the Rose King revealed the second visual, a new trailer, and additional cast. The anime will have 2 cours with the first part premiering on January 9, 2022.
The trailer also previews the anime’s opening song “I’m Obsessed With Roses” performed by voice actor Makoto Furukawa.
The anime series is directed by Angels of Death director Kentarō Suzuki and animated by J.C. Staff. Gamers! script writer Hiroki Uchida is supervising and writing the scripts. Tsutomu Hashizume is designing the characters. Mitsuki Saiga plays the protagonist Richard and Hikaru Midorikawa plays Henry.

Requiem of the Rose King is set at the Kingdom of England, which is torn between the House of York and the House of Lancaster—each claiming their leader to be the rightful king—young Prince Richard III is fighting a battle within himself. Despised by his mother, adored by his father (the Duke of York, a claimant to the throne), and alienated from most others, he grapples with frightful spirits haunting him, unsteady and unintentional alliances with his enemies, and his own passion for a throne.
