In the KonoSuba special live stream, it was announced that an anime adaptation for KonoSuba‘s spin-off light novel, Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! will be coming, and is currently being worked on by Studio Drive who is also in charge of KonoSuba’s third season!
Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! is a story focused on Megumin before she joined Kazuma’s party. Rie Takahashi will be voicing Megumin and Aki Toyosaki returns as YunYun!

One year before the events of the original KonoSuba, the greatest explosion magician was hard at work mastering the most powerful magic the world has ever known, Explosion! And when big sister is out of the house, the little one plays, as Megumin’s little sister Komekko finds a strange black cat. Unbeknownst to Komekko and Megumin however, the black cat is the key to unveiling the tomb of an ancient God.
