At the Silent Hill Transmission streamed on October 19, Konami announced that the blockbuster Silent Hill 2, which was originally released on PlayStation 2, will be completely remade for modern platforms!
The remake will be handled by Bloober Team, the studio behind Layers of Fear and The Medium. It’s worth noting that it’s a complete remake, not a remaster of Konami’s 2001 horror game!
The new entry will be a timed exclusive on the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms for 12 months. This means that if you were expecting to play it on Xbox, unfortunately, you’ll have to wait for the exclusivity period to end. Unfortunately, there’s no word on a release date so far.
Along with Silent Hill 2 Remake, Konami’s Silent Hill Transmission Livestream also announced two new games titled Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall, as well as a new Return to Silent Hill movie.

▍Remake on Unreal Engine 5
The entirety of the game has been made using the latest Unreal Engine 5! Furthermore, the game’s PS5 version will feature 3D Audio support, as well as haptic feedback from the DualSense controller, so you can sense where the action is happening in real-time. With the PlayStation 5’s SSD, you’ll see virtually no loading times as well.
