Nintendo released a new overview trailer showing off the basic gameplay and story of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
The trailer’s only in Japanese but the trailer basically goes through your journey through various locations and biomes you’ll visit, the various students and teachers you’ll meet on your journey to becoming a pokemon champion! The trailer also features more open-world gameplay, with traversal, internet co-op play, and of course Pokemon battles with the new Terastal mechanic!

Welcome to the Paldea region! This Pokémon title puts you in the shoes of a school student at Naranja and Uva academy, where you’ll be able to meet tons of new people, Pokémon, and discover a new side of yourself in this academy meant to breed the best for the Pokémon world, whether its scholars, champions, or Pokémon caretakers.
During your journey, you’ll meet loads of new Pokémon, including new faces gym leaders, companions, and enemies.
This time the world opens up even more, with the addition of the new living vehicles, Koraidon and Miraidon letting you travel across the world be it in the sky, on land, or at sea!

This newest entry into the series also brings the experience together with co-op! You can now explore the world, trade, and battle with each other through Union Circles, letting you explore the vast pokemon world together with your avatars standing right next to each other!
The game still retains its classic JRPG turn-based combat system but as usual comes with a new twist. The new Terastal mechanic greatly enhances your Pokemon’s abilities giving them new attacks, while also completely changing their elemental types!
This lets you open up tons of new strategies and ways to mix up your opponents during battles, and this mechanic is also featured in the new Tera Raid battle where you’ll have to team up with your friends or strangers, against a super-powerful Terastalized wild Pokemon!
You can also bond with your Pokemon and interact with the world in new ways, taking photos with them, making food, and going on picnics to record these special moments with your buddies. You can even clean off your Pokemon after a long day by giving them baths and further building a rapport with your favorites!
