Developer and publisher Square Enix has released a slew of information regarding the upcoming Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, which is set to release on February 16, 2023, for Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4. While the game was first announced two months ago, we finally get to know the different song modes that players can play, as well as ways to customize their playing experience.
As you may know, Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is a rhythm game featuring over 385 music tracks from across the whole Final Fantasy series to choose from, plus 100+ characters. Furthermore, players can purchase the Digital Deluxe and Premium Digital Deluxe Editions and get access to a plethora of DLC songs, including music from popular series, such as NieR, SaGa series, LIVE-A-LIVE, Octopath Traveler, and more!
▍Theatrhythm Final Bar Line Song List and Modes
When you first enter the song selection in Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, the full 403 songs will be available for you to choose from, each showing your current high score and Rank. By pressing the prompt button, you can sort these songs using various criteria such as alphabetical order, or series order. Furthermore, pressing left or right on the D-pad will change the song category.
There are three modes in Theatrhythm Final Bar Line: Standard, Pair, and Simple. In Standard Style, songs are played by pressing the correct prompts by yourself. If you’ve played the Final Curtain game on 3DS, this is very similar.
Next, if you’re not into complex control types, there’s Simple Mode, which maps all the notes into an easy-to-understand four-button mapping.
And finally, we have the Pair Style, where two players can play a song together. P1 and P2 will have different prompts so pay attention to your cues! You can set up Pair Style to use either the Standard Controls or the Simple Controls.
In Simplified Mode, the buttons are as follows:
Touch Trigger: Press the button.
Slide trigger: Tilt the stick in the direction of the arrow. Two arrows mean you’ll need to control the two controller sticks.
Hold trigger: Hold down the button for the ordered length of time and release.
Hold Slide Trigger: Hold down the button for the length of time, and then tilt the stick in the direction of the arrow. If there are two arrows, tilt both sticks in the required direction.
▍Customize your Own Profile Cards!
Also, you can make your very own Profile Card in Theatrhythm Final Bar Line! This is a card that contains a record of your various plays. You can customize the illustrations and base design to your liking. You can then exchange it with other players.
The card will display your rhythm flow, playtime, achievements, completion rate (in Stars), and your most played songs. Flipping over your card will show who you commonly use as a party, and how many collectibles you’ve well, collected.

Characters can be obtained by releasing a series of “Series Quests” to obtain characters associated with that work, and enemy characters can also be obtained by clearing the last stage of each series! There are over 104 Final Fantasy characters, so make your dream team by clearing those quests!
