The second season of the anime “Bastard‼ Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy,” based on Kazushi Hagiwara’s original manga, is scheduled to release on Netflix in 2023. The new season is titled Hell’s Requiem Arc.
Alongside the announcement, a new teaser trailer and a key visual are unveiled. Kazushi Hagiwara, the author of the manga, also showcased an illustration celebrating the decision to produce the second season.
The second season will take place two years after the first season Ankoku no Hakaishin, which ended with the fierce battle between Dark Schneider and Abigail and the collapse of the Kingdom of Meta-llicana.
The main cast and staff will reprise their roles from the first season. In addition, Takuma Terashima plays Joshua Belahia, the samurai general of the former A-Ian-Meide country, who also appeared in the final episode of the first season. Sho Hayami plays Nils Schon Mifune, Junichi Suwabe plays Yngwei Von Mattström, and Koji Yusa plays Zion Sol Vandenverg.

Like Priest Geo, he is one of the Five Heroes of Meta-llicana who fought in the Golem War, attracted by the aspirations of Prince Lars. Later, he became the Seneschal of the Aian Meide. He is a master of the Kyokushin Itto style and his class is Samurai High Master. Joshua is one of his disciples.
■ Yngwei Von Mattström – CV: Junichi Suwabe
A calm and noble swordsman. He is one of the most powerful warlords of the Sorcerer Shogun, and his devotion to Kall-Su is particularly strong. His special technique, the Banisher of Night Emperor Sword, which he performs with his Shu Tora Sword (Strad), is a blow of such speed that it appears to ordinary people as a momentary flash of light. Hence, he is known as the user of the “Speed of Light Strike”.

▍About Bastard‼
Bastard!! Ankoku no Hakaishin is a manga created and illustrated by Kazushi Hagiwara. The manga contains scenes of partial nudity, violence, and blood and is therefore rated for ages 15 and up.
Being its author a heavy metal lover, the manga is known for the myriad of references (in the names of characters, places, or spells) to bands such as Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, Anthrax, Megadeth, Venom, Guns N’ Roses, Accept, Def Leppard, Gamma Ray, and Helloween.
The manga was first published in Shōnen Jump magazine, but later its publication moved to Ultra Jump magazine. The first volume of Bastard!! in Japanese was released in October 1988.
400 years since the fall of modern civilization. The world is riddled with chaos and ruled by swords and magic. The Kingdom of Meta-llicana is under attack by the Dark Rebel Armies and their Four Divine Kings, and Yoko Tia Noto, the daughter of the Grand Priest, must make a fateful decision to save the kingdom.
