The Phoenixx-published and RaStar Studio-developed top-down shooter Physical Layer is now available on PC via Steam, supporting Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese interface and text options. The title is currently available at a 10% launch sale discount and the offer ends on March 23.
First announced at the Tokyo Indie Games Summit earlier this month, Physical Layer has players taking the role of a special agent disguised as an innocuous high school student, who must take on increasingly treacherous mission gauntlets, taking down enemies using supernatural abilities and firearms.

▍ Physical Layer Gameplay
Physical Layer boasts 240 total stages, all changing up the enemies and terrains that will challenge its players in different ways. To take down the opposing forces, the Agent has several different skills at her disposal to even the odds. Using a combination of psychic abilities and gunfire, players will need to stay mobile, act quickly, and manage cooldowns to come out on top of situations.
■ Reverse Polarity
A skill where the Agent will reverse the properties of incoming hostile bullets (colored pink), turning them into projectiles lethal to the enemy (color-coded blue). Reverse Polarity also fires off a small aura around the player character and reflects nearby bullets.
Usable both in offensive and defensive maneuvers, this ability allows players to move and throw objects around using telekinesis. Gather blocks to use as a shield, or toss them at enemies to deal deadly damage!
■ Slide Dash
Slide Dash is a mobility skill that allows players to dodge enemy bullet barrages at high speed. Possessing invincibility frames when performed, the ability can be used for both offense and defense, allowing players to weave through attacks while bringing the heat to the enemy.
▍ Unlockable Equipment and Various Game-modes to Take On
Upon clearing missions under certain criteria, players unlock various weapons to bring to the next sortie. Offering a whole arsenal ranging from submachineguns to sniper rifles, players will be able to experiment with different strategies depending on their choice of firearm.
New guns aren’t the only rewards on the table, as Physical Layer also offers rewards such as skins on the more difficult mission challenges. Higher-difficulty missions include the Two-shot and One-Shot modes, where the error margin drastically decreases, making every shot and skill activation count!
