The Horimiya manga and anime series may have ended in 2021, but that doesn’t mean it was complete because the anime’s coming back this July as Horimiya Piece!
Horimiya Piece isn’t a follow-up to the original anime series, but rather an extension to the 2021 series, as it animates stories that weren’t featured in the anime, but were written in the manga! Think of the stories that were only shown through Hori’s photos at the end of the first series, as we may be getting adaptations of stories like the Sports festival, and other missing arcs!
Being the product that it is, the anime features the staff members, and cast members from the original anime series coming back for one last hurrah for the series, to make sure that no story goes untold!
Horimiya Piece is set to premiere this July.
▍About Horimiya
A manga series originally created by HERO before it was picked up by Square Enix and added Daisuke Hagiwara as the illustrator. This is a story about two very different people falling in love together through their everyday interactions, as they learn about each other’s weird quirks, and learn to accept each other and themselves despite how society may view them.
Kyoko Hori is a brown-haired high school student who’s the eye of her high school peers, but is considered frivolous by many because she often shuts down advances from others. In reality, Hori is actually often rushing back home to take care of her younger brother as her parents are often never home. One day she meets Izumi Miyamura, her classmate who looks like a gloomy otaku to others, but is actually a total cutie with a wild sense of fashion!
Together they bond over continued meetings together, hanging out at Hori’s place and begin to learn more about each other along with their friends, who are all struggling to understand the complex web that is relationships.
