Ankama Studio, the developer behind Dofus and Wakfu MMOs, announced a new tactical RPG Waven that is set to release for mobile and PC via Steam in 2023. The developer also revealed the first trailer of the free-to-play title, showcasing its vibrant and immersive world.
Set in a flooded world where only a few islands remain above water, Waven follows the journey of a seafaring adventurer seeking answers to the great upheaval. The game features a unique blend of adventure, turn-based strategy, deck-building mechanics, and collectible items.
Players can choose their heroes, equip powerful spells, and embark on an odyssey through a colorful world filled with intriguing creatures. Solo or with friends, it’s up to you to face increasingly challenging taunting monsters while mastering the elements and summoning mythical companions.
Waven also introduces a new asynchronous mode where players defend their “Haven Island” from attacks by other players, as well as the “Kolossium,” a player-versus-player arena for proving one’s valor and becoming a legend.
Players can also switch between PC, and iOS or Android devices with a single account. Early access to Waven will be available this summer, with a worldwide free-to-play release slated for late 2023.
