The upcoming anime movie Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out has released the official trailer and announced its theme song “Fukashigi no Carte movie ver.” (不可思議のカルテ movie ver.) performed by Yurika Kubo, the actress who plays the film’s protagonist Kaede Azusagawa.
The film, scheduled to premiere on June 23 in theaters in Japan, follows the story of Kaede Azusagawa as she prepares for her high school entrance exams, supported by her older brother, Sakuta Azusagawa.
The trailer features Kaede tackling her high school entrance exams, supported by Sakuta, Mai, and Nodoka. Despite experiencing physical symptoms from Adolescent Syndrome, Kaede is determined to attend the same high school as her brother. The trailer is accompanied by Kaede’s version of “Fukashigi no Carte,” the ending theme song from the TV series.
In addition to the upcoming movie, a special screening of the previous movie, “Seishun Buta Yarou wa Yumemiru Shoujo no Yume wo Minai,” has been confirmed for May 28 in Japan. This event will occur at United Cinema Toyosu in Tokyo, 109 Cinemas Shonan in Kanagawa, 109 Cinemas Nagoya in Aichi, and T・Joy Umeda in Osaka.
At the United Cinema Toyosu location, a talk event featuring Kaito Ishikawa (Sakuta Azusagawa CV), Asami Seto (Mai Sakurajima CV), and Yurika Kubo (Kaede Azusagawa CV) will also be held.
▍About Rascal Does Not Dream
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, or Seishun Buta Yaro, is a light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida. The story follows Sakuta Azusagawa and multiple characters who suffer from Adolescence syndrome. This phenomenon causes many characters to suffer extremely bizarre behaviors after suffering from a traumatic incident, such as being invisible to others or having insults manifest as real-world wounds.
As Sakuta explores their version of Adolescence syndrome and tries to cure it, he learns more about the various characters in his high school, his sister, and more about himself.
The series has been adapted into a manga, and anime series with 13 episodes, and a theatrical release based on novels six and seven of the light novel.
