Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has long been rumored for a remake and the intel is finally getting a confirmation at today’s PlayStation Showcase 2023. Officially titled Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, the game will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Though the release date is yet to be revealed, a new trailer has been shown to showcase how Snake will look in next-gen consoles. In a press release, Konami describes the title as “a faithful remake”.

“A new generation of players and loyal fans alike can experience the origin story of the famed Big Boss, and witness how his legend was forged in the crucible of Operation Snake Eater,” it said.

The developer also confirmed “Volume 1” of a Metal Gear Solid remaster collection, featuring Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, and Metal Gear Solid 3, releasing in autumn 2023.

The announcement of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater (pronounced “Metal Gear Solid Delta”) is undoubtedly thrilling news for fans since it is the first proper Metal Gear Solid game after its director Hideo Kojima departed from Konami after the release of Metal Gear Solid 5. Though without the presence of the high-profile director, the stunning graphics of the in-game screenshots have proven it to be an entry you can’t afford to miss.
