Based on Daisuke Aizawa’s fantasy light novel adaptation, The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 anime is confirmed to premiere this October. The 12-episode anime also revealed its first promotional video and additional cast members.
Among the additional cast, Ai Kakuma plays Mary, a legendary vampire hunter; Shizuka Itō plays Yukime, a nine-tailed fox spirit that rules the White Tower in the Lawless City; Tsuyoshi Koyama plays Juggernaut, a tyrant ruling over the Black Tower, and Tomokazu Sugita plays Crimson, who leads the vampires of the Red Tower and is also personal adviser to the Blood Queen, Elizabeth.
The Eminence in Shadow follows Cid Kagenō, formerly Minoru Kagenō, a young man who is reborn into a new world with the desire to manipulate events from the shadows rather than become a hero or a true villain.
Under the guise of an average person, he trains in swordplay and magic while leading the secret organization known as Shadow Garden. Their mission is to dismantle the Cult of Diablos, an influential organization controlling the world from behind the scenes. However, as Cid gathers a group of allies, he discovers that the truth behind his own powers and the existence of the cult is far more complex than he initially believed.
To celebrate the upcoming season, a character popularity poll, Shadow Election, is being held from May 28 until June 30. Fans can participate by voting for their favorite character and sharing their votes on The Eminence in Shadow’s official Twitter. Among those who share the results of their votes, three lucky winners will be selected in a drawing to receive a script signed by the cast of the Seven Shadows. However, prices will only be distributed within Japan.

■ Mary – CV: Ai Kakuma
The first vampire hunter. She came to the Lawless City to defeat Elizabeth, the Blood Queen. She knows all the weaknesses of vampires and cuts them down calmly. When she entered the Red Tower, decided to partner with Claire.
■ Yukime – CV: Shizuka Itō
A nine-tailed Spirit Fox who rules the White Tower in the Lawless City. She is an aloof beast woman who uses brocades, is outstandingly talented among the fox tribe, and is also a skilled fighter. In the lawless city, she is in charge of the red-light district.
■ Juggernaut – CV: Tsuyoshi Koyama
The ruler of the Black Tower is known as the Tyrant. He is blessed with a strong physique, high physical ability, and an overwhelming sense of battle that can be described as a wild instinct. He is a man of boldness and open-mindedness and tries to push through everything with force.
■ Crimson – CV: Tomokazu Sugita
The personal advisor to Elizabeth, the Blood Queen, leads the vampires of the Red Tower in Lawless City. He has longed for Elizabeth to rule the world and turn it to blood for a thousand years, and plunges the city into chaos in order to bring her back to life.
