Genshin Impact Sets the Stage for its 1st International TCG Tournament Series in the Latter Half of 2023

HoYoverse unveiled its plans to debut the first international Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Tournament series, Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup, in the latter half of 2023. The event invites Genius Invokation TCG players from across the globe to partake in a series of regional championships and invitational tournaments, all vying for a share of the prize pool exceeding USD $270,000.

The open-world adventure RPG Genshin Impact has continued to flourish since its September 2020 launch. The game’s immersive storyline, vibrant landscapes, and dynamic characters have been coupled with various updates, events, and gameplay enhancements over time. One such recent addition is the Genius Invokation TCG, introduced in December 2022, a card-based game that merges Genshin Impact’s unique elemental combat system with strategy development.

In Genius Invokation TCG, players can test their strategic prowess against NPCs or compete against other players, wielding their unique card collections. The most recent Version 3.7 update, launched last week, has further enriched the Genius Invokation TCG, introducing over 60 new cards and two game modes.

Genshin Impact – Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup

The announcement of Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup follows after the authorization granted to the Genshin Impact Tavern community earlier this year to inaugurate the “Cat’s Tail Gathering” GITCG Tournament. As a community-driven Discord event, it laid the groundwork for the upcoming international tournament series.

The Prince Cup consists of two parts: six regional tournaments spanning June to September 2023, and three cross-regional invitationals in June, August, and December 2023.

Top candidates from the “Cat’s Tail Gathering” community tournaments and wildcard competitions will compete for regional championship titles. The quarter-finalists will have their games live-streamed on official AstraCarnival platforms including Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok. Selected top regional and community tournament contenders may also receive invitations to the international exhibition games.

In addition, HoYoverse is also allowing fans, gamers, and interested parties to register their non-official Genius Invokation TCG tournaments, with the company offering support and guidance. For more information, find Genshin Impact Non-Official Tournament Collaboration Rules here.

The “Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup” represents Genshin Impact’s first-ever international tournament series, designed to create a global stage for talented players while providing diverse entertainment for its dedicated gaming community. The tournament is set to start with regionals in Korea, Europe, and North America, and wildcard competition sign-ups are open starting May 29 on the official website.
