▍About The King of Fighters 13: Global Match
The King of Fighters 13: Global Match is a revision of the original KOF13, a fighting game by SNK released in 2010 for Japanese arcades, then in 2011 for consoles.
Taking place after KOF11, this game is the conclusion to Ash Crimson’s story arc beginning from KOF 2003, and like with the previous entries features another KOF tournament hosted by Those from the Distance Land, an organization bent on taking over the world by breaking the seal of Orochi and taking its power.
KOF13 is the last current mainline KOF game that uses SNK’s signature sprite work and was praised for its incredibly smooth sprites, fast-paced gameplay, and intense combos that can often lead to several touches of deaths, instantly turning the game around for its players. Much of the game’s soundtrack has also been reused in The King of Fighters ALLSTAR.
Global Match is an update and re-release of the title coming to the PS4 and Nintendo Switch and comes with Rollback Netcode, a network framework designed for fighting games to reduce the feeling latency has on games, by returning the game state, or “rolling back” to the earliest frame where the connection was disrupted.
