Based on Koume Fujichika’s romantic comedy manga series, the television anime series The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses will start airing on July 4, 2023. Along with the announcement, a new key visual, promotional video, the ending theme song, and information on seven additional cast members were revealed.
The third key visual depicts Ai Mie smiling surrounded by blooming sakura, while Kaede Komura, seemingly puzzled, holds her glasses. Fans can also check out the ending theme song “Megane Go-Round” by Masayoshi ga Megane wo Wasureta (formed by the main cast of the protagonists) in the new trailer together with the scenes of how Komura-kun struggling to support the airheaded Mie-san.
The seven additional cast members of their classmates, including Aya Uchida as Asuka Kawato, Minori Suzuki as Maho Tōyama, Ryohei Kimura as Ren Azuma, Yūsuke Kobayashi as Tomo Yasaka, Shino Shimoji as Narumi Someya, Saki Miyashita asYuika Hibuchi, and Kentarō Tone as Tokita-kun.

Sukinako ga Megane wo Wasureta is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Koume Fujichika. First published on the author’s Twitter account in April 2018, it then began serialization in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker magazine in November of that same year. The series has been published digitally in English as The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses through Comikey since May 2, 2022, and by Square Enix through Manga UP!
Kaede Komura is a run-of-the-mill student in junior high school who’s a little bit reserved and is seated next to Ai Mie, a somewhat aloof and pretty girl to who he always pays attention, and wishes she’d look at him the same way he does.
Komura-kun’s wish is granted when one day Ai Mie forgets her glasses, and actually, she forgets them quite often, causing Ai to squint as it turns out she’s incredibly near-sighted, causing her to almost press up against something, or someone to see them properly! The series follows the pair’s hijinks as Komura tries to help him navigate when forgetting her glasses, as Ai is clueless as to how Komura’s reacting due to how poor her eyesight is.
