Bushiroad has announced that its upcoming Macross series console title, Macross Shooting Insight has been delayed from its 2023 release window to January 25, 2024.
The announcement was made on the game’s official Twitter / X account, where it simply stated the game’s release was being pushed back, and the developers apologized for the inconvenience while knowing that players have been looking forward to the game for quite some time. Unfortunately, no other details about the game’s delay were revealed at this time.
Macross Shooting Insight will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.

Macross Shooting Insight is a screen-scrolling shoot’em up revealed as part of Bushroad’s Games Label announcement trailer, showing off a series of titles including Goblin Slayer Nightmare Feast, and Mushoku Tensei Quest of Memories.
The game is a 3D Scrolling shooter game based on the Macross series, featuring over 45 characters from multiple generations of the Macross anime, including Macross 7 with the Battle 7 battle fortress making an appearance.
The game features a “Sync-On” system, where players can get an edge in battle by synchronizing with the songstresses through four distinct processes. Once the songstress has resonated with, powerful mode will be activated that grants buffs, debuffs to enemies, and more useful abilities increased movement speed, better firepower, reducing enemy firing speed, and more.
As you’d expect from a game based on the series, expect to hear iconic music from the anime being performed as you fight, including tracks like “Lion” and “Ikenai Borderline”!
Players can also adopt different playstyles based on the type of craft they choose to pilot, from Fighters, Battleroids, and Gafolks, each being tuned towards specific shooting patterns that make them better for certain stages.
