Saniwa from DMM’s Touken Ranbu (刀剣乱舞) will welcome new tanto, Hyuga Masamune (日向正宗), possibly before the end of December or in the beginning of January. This new sword announced yesterday is voiced by Kaji Yuki and illustrated by Black Butler’s mangaka Yana Toboso.
“Ishida Mitsunari is the most famous among all my the past owners, right? Yup, I am going to work hard this time.”
A short dagger of 24.8cm, Hyuga Masamune is made by Goro Nyodo Masamune in the Kamakura period (1185-1333). He was once owned by Ishida Mitsunari and even the Tokugawa family. Since he was considered a noble gift in the past, he would say “what a pity” when he is given to somebody again. By saying that he doesn’t mean to be sad or anything. He says that to express his gratitude. A good chef when it comes to making Umeboshi.
