On 21st January, Meiji Tokyo Renka, the mobile otome game set in the Meiji period, held the “明治東亰恋伽～ハイカラ浪漫劇場5” event, announcing the series’ latest news including a live-action drama series, a movie adaptation, as well as an upcoming new mobile game and anime series!
▍New Mobile Game
Previously, the series had many mobile ports of their PSV games including Meiji Tokyo Renka FULL MOON. During the event, a new mobile game was announced to be in the making. The game will be titled Meiji Tokyo Renka Haikara Date (明治東亰恋伽～ハヰカラデヱト～) and is estimated to be released this summer. Currently, an official Twitter and LINE account has been made for the game. Fans can pre-register for the game via both channels.
▍New Characters
The new mobile game will introduce three new characters: “尾崎紅葉”, “瀧廉太郎”, and “橫山大觀”. Asides from their names and look, nothing else has been revealed.
▍Anime Adaptation
The anime adaptation of Meiji Tokyo Renka will be created by TMS Entertainment Co., LTD and will be directed by Akitaro Daichi (大地丙太郎) who worked on Fruit Basket and Nobunaga no Shinobi. Junko Yamanaka (山中純子) will be the Animation Director and will also be in charge of character designs.
▍Live-Action Drama Series
Although a live-action drama series was announced, no details were released during the event.
