[Qoo News] Rurouni Kenshin Hokkaido Arc coming back in June 2018

Rurouni Kenshin (るろうに剣心) is coming back in June because “the mangaka has already reflected upon his action” following his arrest, Jump Square said.

Rurouni Kenshin

Rurouni Kenshin, written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki (和月 伸宏), made its comeback in September 2017 after 18 years of absence. The new serialisation on Jump Square is Hokkaido Arc, set five years after Jinchu Arc, and about Himura Kenshin looking for Myojin Yahiko in Hokkaido.

Unfortunately, Watsuki was arrested for possessing child porn in November and the magazine then halted the manga the following month. In February 2018, Watsuki’s case was settled with a 200,000 yen ($1866 USD) fine.

Besides the mangaka’s repentance, Jump Square said they also had the responsibility to respond to readers’ feedback on the issue, which is why a continuation is the way to go.

The new chapter will be available in the July issue of Jump Square starting 4th June.
