▍Reset Marathon
The reset marathon for KOF: ALLSTAR isn’t too bad. Although the pre-registration rewards won’t give you enough gems for a 10x summon, the game does give you a 10x gacha ticket and a 4★+ guaranteed gacha ticket, these will be what you will be using for your reset marathon. Additionally, you will also be able to do 1 free gacha summon in the gacha page. If it is your first run, you can play through the Basic Tutorial (as Kyo Kusanagi) and the Basic Guide (Forced playthrough of the first couple stages), but if all you want is to start the main game asap, then feel free to skip them both. Don’t worry, you’ll receive everything you get from the tutorial even if you skip! Considering you skip everything, each run should only take you around 3-5 minutes. In addition to 5★ characters, there are also character exclusive Specials that players can obtain from the “Battle Cards” gacha. These special cards will unlock each character’s unique specials. So the best case scenario is to obtain a 5★ character and their exclusive unique.
▍Recommended Characters
If your priority is strong characters and not favorite characters, then below is a list of characters that are strong, to begin with. Below that will be a list of all the 5★ characters available in the game for those who want the 5★ forms of their favorite characters. In addition to 5★ characters, there are also character exclusive Specials that players can obtain from the “Battle Cards” gacha. These special cards will unlock each character’s unique specials.
■ Mai Shiranui (’95)
Mai Shiranui is an S tier character because of her looks. Just kidding. Mai has a great leader skill which boosts the Attack and HP of all Attack type characters by 20%. This gives you an extra boost in attack. Her leader skill is also not restricted to a specific type, which means you can have a team with different character types to deal with different stages.
The downside for all that extra damage is the lack of defense and HP. Early on this won’t be much of a problem, but as the game releases more events, this could really hinder your ability to farm.
Leader SKill: Attack type characters Attack & HP 20% up
■ Chizuru Kagura (’96)
One of the most useful leader skill to start off with. Her overall stats are sub-par. However, this can easily be balanced out with battle cards. Additionally, the boss of the first event is a dark type, with Chizuru as your team leader, farming the first leader will be quite easy. Not to mention she’s on pick up and her special is also on pick up!
Leader Skil: Yellow Characters Attack 20% up + Damage Received -15%
■ Kyo Kusanagi (’96)
Pick up character. A typical DPS character, Kyo has significant attack stats and his skills deal a good amount of damage. As you increase his core effects, Kyo has a chance to apply a burn to enemies on crit hits. Although ’95 Kyo has higher damage than ’96, ’96 Kyo’s leader skill allows a mixed team, which makes him more versatile.
Leader SKill: Balance Characters 20% Attack up + Burn Effect Damage 25% up
■ Iori Yagami (’96)
Despite being a Defense type character, Iori has decent attack power. His skills have a high attack % which makes up for his low attack stat. Early on, this he might not be great, but mid to late game, defense characters will prove to be incredibly useful. Both the 5★ Character and his special is on pick up.
Leader SKill: Defense Characters 40% HP up
