On 17th April, DELiGHTWORKS invited different media and companies in the gaming industry to their industry board game social event at their Tokyo office. The event showcased some of DELiGHTWORKS’ latest tabletop games including Fate/Grand Order Duel -collection figure- the tabletop adaptation of the company’s massively popular Fate/Grand Order (FGO) mobile game. With free reigns to take pictures of the event, of course, we wouldn’t miss the chance to share the experience with you!
▍About DELiGHTWORKS
▲Employee Cafe
As many of you already know, DELiGHTWORKS is a Japanese game development studio most famous for creating FGO. The company was founded in 2014 and holds a belief to “Just Make Great Games!” whilst emphasizes the importance of communication and socialization between working members of society. With this in mind, the company has specially created board game cafe resting areas within their business offices.
▍DELiGHTWORKS Board Game Party
DELiGHTWORKS Board Game Party is an event held by DELiGHTWORKS in cooperation with JELLY JELLY CAFE, a Japanese board game cafe franchise, to promote their emphasis of socialization between working members of society in hopes to liven the gaming industry in Japan. This year’s event is the ninth edition and featured over 120 guests.
In addition to over 200 of the company’s existing tabletop games, DELiGHTWORKS also featured their three latest tabletop games Fate/Grand Order Duel -collection figure-, The Last Brave, and CHAINsomnia, each with their own booths to let visitors try.
On the day of the event, staffs from JELLY JELLY CAFE could be found on site, guiding new players through different games, allowing both veteran tabletop players and first-timers to experience seamless gameplay of the game of their choice.
Of course, after playing the games, there are also small stalls where visitors could buy themselves the games they want… or they could spend all their money on FGO merch and art books (not like I did, but just saying).
At the event, asides from tabletop games, a showcase of the company’s arcade games was also presented in collaboration with Japanese arcade game center franchise, Mikado (ゲーセンミカド). The arcade corner was also complemented with a special Mikado-chan (ミカドちゃん) illustration created by Japanese mangaka Rensuke Oshikiri (押切 蓮介)!
And finally, a special poster was revealed for the recently revealed Fate/stay night 15th Anniversary tabletop game project! The game is currently in development, but no details have been released as of this moment.
