The new “Higurashi: When They Cry” anime announced that it is officially titled as “Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU” (ひぐらしのなく頃に 業) after streaming the second episode on 8th October. A new PV has also been revealed for the announcement.
Asaka is performing the opening theme song “I believe what you said,” while Ayane is performing the ending theme song “God Syndrome” (神様のシンドローム).
The official website also reveals a new cast; Yui Horie as Hanyu. The TV anime series premiered on 1st October and its 2nd cour (14 episode ~) will start on 7th January 2021.

▍Synopsis
The story takes place in the fictional village of Hinamizawa in June 1983. Shortly before then, the main character, Keiichi Maebara, moves to the village and befriends classmates Mion Sonozaki, her twin sister Shion, Rena Ryugu, Rika Furude and Satoko Hojo. Keiichi soon learns of the village’s annual Watanagashi Festival, a celebration to commemorate and give thanks to the local deity Oyashiro. Hinamizawa initially seems calm and peaceful, but shortly before the festival, Keiichi learns that for four consecutive years, people in the village have been killed or have disappeared on the evening of the festival. These crimes remain unsolved and have been named the “Oyashiro Curse” by the local populace.
