What is Alice Transforms?
Alice Transforms is a mobile action game based off the Alice in the Wonderland universe. The game is quite simple, launch Alice from the Teapot and keep her moving up by killing monsters. As you progress to a different level you will unlock new forms for Alice for the specific level, once unlocked from thereon out every time you reach that level, Alice will transform, making her stronger as you progress to higher levels.
Gameplay
The game is quite simple and straight forward. To start, tap at the screen when the bar is as close to full as you can. This determines how high Alice is launched on your screen. Even if you don’t start off high there’s no need to worry as you can slowly climb your way back up as you kill monsters. As long as you remain high, you’ll be able to progress to the next level. However, as you progress enemies get stronger and it could take a more than one hit to kill them, which is why the upgrade system is quite important.
Asides from new transformations, new levels unlocks new items that will appear randomly with different effects, from explosions to refilling hearts and extra gold.
Although the game doesn’t bomb you with ads, when you’re feeling like you’ve reached a bottle neck it could be useful to watch an ad or two to give you bonus gold or even a second chance to progress further.
The game offers players 2 sets of controls, the first allows users to tilt their phones to control Alice’s movements paired with a tap to attack system. The second require players to slide on the screen to control Alice’s movements paired with a release to attack system.
Thoughts
Alice Transforms is quite a friendly game for casual gamers. It doesn’t force you to play constantly and it doesn’t really force you to watch ads all the time. At each level the transformations for Alice does seems significantly different visually, but it still follows the main theme of Alice in the Wonderland, so for fans of the classic novel, the references will surely be a delight in the game.
Each game is fairly short which makes the game quite fast paced. The different variety of enemy characteristics makes the game quite challenging as you progress further. The fact that they made each level unlock different forms and items tugs at players curiosity driving their motivation to continue on.
