Kōhei Horikoshi’s popular manga “My Hero Academia” (僕のヒーローアカデミア) confirms the production of a third anime film, which is set to open in Japan’s theatres in summer 2021! A teaser visual with the tagline “HE WILL MEET THE THREE MUSKETEERS” has been revealed.
Kōhei is supervising the anime film with its original story and character designs. Kenji Nagasaki is also returning from the television series and two previous films in the franchise to direct the new film at BONES.

Other returning staff members include scriptwriter Yousuke Kuroda, character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, and composer Yuki Hayashi.
Horikoshi previously teased in July 2019 that the second film would be the last one for the franchise, as “there won’t be a third film. Probably” until this announcement. He explained that the second film could be described as a kind of a finale for My Hero Academia. That is because its story used one of the concepts he had wanted to use in the manga’s final battle.
The anime’s 5th season is set to premiere in spring 2021.
