NetEase Games has revealed several collaboration projects for the “Onmyoji” IP during the NetEase Connect 2021 on May 20. A new animation project is also revealed.
The four titles of “Onmyoji” IP including “Onmyoji”, “Onmyoji Arena”, “Onmyoji: The Card Game”, and “Onmyoji: Yokai Koya” are having a collaboration with TV anime “Jujutsu Kaisen” and Sanrio characters.
The “Onmyoji” game will also collaborate with mangaka Clamp and visual artist Yoshitaka Amano, who is known for his commissioned illustrations for the “Final Fantasy” game franchise.
The IP also reveals a new animation project “妖怪证悟” (trans. Yōkai Comprehension), which is animated by Onmyoji Animation Studio. The teaser trailer teases a mysterious incident with multiple young girls commit suicide and a girl with orange hair attempts to find out the truth. The modern worldview and settings seem to be different from the original “Onmyoji” IP, but details are yet to be revealed.
