COVER Corp and Hololive has announced Holoearth, a metaverse project for Hololive Alternative, that includes an open-world sandbox game for fans to engage with their favourite Vtubers on PC and mobile.
According to an announcement posted on the website by Producer U, Holoearth is both the name of the metaverse project and the name of the fictional world of Hololive Alternative. As such, Holoearth will use “a variety of media” to bring that world to life. People will be able to experience the world alongside Hololive’s performers.
The underdevelopment project will include three major parts: an open-world sandbox game, communication lobby, and avatar creation system. There is no fixed release date for the project yet, but the website says it will be playable within the next two years. Development is focused on the PC first, with a planned mobile release afterwards.
The open-world sandbox game aims to offer a unique experience for all Hololive supporters. Players will be able to take adventures, fight monsters, build their house and live a “daily life” in the world of Holoearth.
This lobby will serve as the gateway to Holoearth, where you can meet and converse with other fans. Here, you can recruit a party to go adventuring within the sandbox game. We are also hoping to hold special events in this space in the future.
▍Avatar Creation System
We are developing an avatar creation system to allow prospective adventurers to create the bodies they will inhabit when they enter the world of Holoearth. Through the course of your adventures and daily interactions, you will be able to collect, equip, and customize various outfits, equipment, and accessories for your avatar body.
