Illusion Connect – Protect the Real World in Dreams

0

Illusion Connect, many may well have heard or was at least aware of this title when it first made appearance in the global market in 2020. The beautiful anime graphics was a hype to mobile gamers and the developer Superprism made sure to advertise it as their premiere game. It got pretty successful for a release from an underdog developer, but what happened next? Is it still alive and kicking? Let’s take an in-depth look at this beautiful real-time strategy RPG title.

Defeat Monsters and Get Rid of Nightmares

The story of Illusion Connect opens its curtain at a facilities where you, the Dream savior or whatever it is that Saya calls you, are being invoked to kill the monsters haunting in her dreams. Saya, the main heroine (apart from yourself, of course), is the leader in your team who greets you to the world of Dream.

The dream is an alternate parallel dimension that exists alongside the real world, but can only be seen and accessed by a chosen few. The Dream world and Real world are both inter-connected and the consequences of what happens in the Dream World can be seen in the Real World as well.

Players will join forces with an arrays of beautiful bishōjo among the likes of Saya, Nina, Victoria, Alice, and many more. These are your Partners who help you defeat the Nightmares in Dream World. The story is delivered in a classic crisp-and-clear dialogue where 2 characters speak side by side. The expressions on the characters are on-point as well and relatable as to what’s being currently told in the story.

Real-Time Input Based Battle System

The gameplay of Illusion Connect might not be the most innovative in its game genre but nonetheless, it’s fun to play and watch. The game follows the traditional tropes of a mana system where characters use their skills automatically on the battlefield.

Each hero costs a certain amount of mana to be deployed and when it is deployed, that hero will instantaneously use his/her ultimate ability. Apart from that, the player has little to no control over the actions of his characters. Also, the player can strategically retire the hero if he/she is close to dying to save more mana.

Apart from characters, the player can choose among different leaders as well. This gives more depth to the strategies available as the leaders have different abilities that benefit certain characters and team compositions. The game does feature a handy auto-battle mode and so far, as we can tell, the AI performs perfectly fine.

Beautiful and Breathtaking Character Designs

The main strength of Illusion Connect remains at the array of aesthetically pleasing and beautiful heroes available for collection. The game offers good-looking animations at full HD 60 FPS for all of its heroes.

Bored of the standard tropes of character designs seen in other RPG titles like Marksmen, Warriors, Tanks, Mages, etc? Well, you are in for a treat at Illusion Connect as their character designs take into consideration almost everything. We have drunk Egyptian girls, half-demon half bar maid girls, 2-in-1 angel twins, half knight, and half doctor husbandos. Whatever fantasizes you, chances are that Illusion Connect has it already.

As expected, Illusion Connect is a gacha game with different types of banners available. There are limited banners where some of the best SSR characters are available while the general banners only have sub-par SSR characters. The catch is that these 2 banners require different types of summoning tickets to summon. The Limited Banner uses the more expensive and premium tickets which are very scarce to obtain unless you are ready to open the wallet. The rates of obtaining SSR characters are 3% which is decent and a soft pity exists at 40 summons.

Link Your Partners and Increase Their Power

Illusion Connect offers various ways to increase the power of your Partners. The usual RPG tropes of leveling up, awakening them, linking them to increase their level cap, and equipping them with strong gear. The game does offer great gear from the login events and story which makes the early game easier.

Players can further increase the star level of their Partners using fragments of that particular partner or the rarity fragments like SR/SSR fragments. This provides a high boost in the base stats of the hero.

A Handy Quest System for Beginners

Illusion Connect offers one of the best, if not, the best questing system that holds your hands until you are ready to explore the game on your own. This might be a negative factor for the seasoned/veteran player but it’s a plus point for a new player who has no idea what’s going on in the game. We can assure you that if you are a new player who is looking to play the game, the early game will be a breeze as the game provides you with enough resources and summoning currency to make the experience pleasant.

Get AFK Resources from the Muscipula

The Muscipula is a great way to obtain bonus resources while you’re not actively playing the game or basically when you are AFK. This is a very common feature in Idle games where the daily playtime is very short. It is undoubtedly a pleasant feature as players can get Gold, Crystal, and EXP for doing nothing over a certain duration of time. Players can further interact with their Partners in the Muscipula and increase their Affection level with them by sending gifts or just talking to them the good old-fashioned way.

Get Ready for A Variety of Content

Illusion Connect not only offers the standard PvE systems like Dungeons where resources can be repeatedly farmed, Arena where players can battle other players on the server in a 1v1 duel, but also a very unique Guild system.

The Arena mode is a highly competitive one. This is also a major source of Diamonds in-game which is the premium currency used for buying summoning tickets or for recharging Stamina. Do keep in mind that the season resets weekly which is quite good as you can have a good weekly Diamond income if you place high enough in the rankings. The Arena also has different rules every season which means that you will require different strategies to climb the rankings.

The Guild system in Illusion Connect is a unique one as it guarantees you an SSR Partner. This is not through a shop or something where players redeem their Guild Tokens as we see in other similar RPG games. Illusion Connect offers a whole new summoning banner just for Guilds where players use the Guild currency to summon in the banner.

Why You Should Play Illusion Connect?

Illusion Connect is a great SRPG with beautiful waifus and handsome husbandos that tickle your collector’s heart. The game also provides a lot of PvE and PvP contents urging you to train different characters to challenge the high level stages. The battle system may not be the best with a rather simple yet raw design, as well as an over-reliance on the auto mode. But if you are a busy gamers, you will be glad about all the AFK features that the game provides.
