The anime adaptation of Shinobu Ohtaka’s Orient revealed a brand new key art for its 2nd cour, which is scheduled to premiere in July 2022. The second cour will follow the Battle of Awaji Island arc. Alongside this, a PV highlighting the Uesugi Bushidan was also revealed to preview the voice of Yōko Hikasa, who joins the cast as Kuroko Usami.
The third main visual highlights the scene in the movie where Musashi and Michiru first meet, with the “How could this be…have I perhaps…fallen in love with you?” text in the middle.
Additional cast members for the anime’s 2nd cour includes Tomaki Maeno as Tatsuomi Uesugi, Natsuki Hanae as Kanetatsu Naoe, Yoshiki Nakajima as Masayuki Amakasu, Kouki Uchiyama as Akihiro Shimazu, and Gakuto Kajiwara as Katsumi Amako.

▍Orient Anime Story
At age 10, best friends Musashi and Kojiro sat in excited silence as Kojiro’s father spun tales of evil demons who preyed on the innocent, and the warriors who defeated them. Practicing swordplay, the two swear an oath to become the strongest in the world. But as they grow up, Kojiro turns cynical, and Musashi comes to realize that he can’t turn back 150 years of demon rule on his own. He’s being called a prodigy with a pickaxe, and he’s almost ready to settle for a life of labor. Yet he can’t shake the feeling that he still has a responsibility to act…and, soon, the injustices of his world will force his hand…
