Get ready to toss your controllers once again, as Team Ninja revealed its latest title, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, at today’s Microsoft and Bethesda Games Fest showcase. Team Ninja is best known for the extremely difficult Ninja Gaiden series, and more recently Nioh. The title was announced with a cinematic trailer, showing off the setting based on the warring three kingdoms, and a man that looks like the general Lu bu.
The project was announced last year in October, with Team Ninja announcing that it was working on a brand new action title based on the three kingdoms period.
Wo Long Fallen Dynasty is set to release sometime in 2023 on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

Set in the warring three kingdoms period, players take on the role of an unknown character possessed by the Eternal Elixir Field, a magical item that grants the player supernatural strength, speed, and the ability to transform into a giant demon, overpowering their foes.
The warring three kingdoms setting has been covered in several games, media, and anime, and Team Ninja’s new spin on the setting is looking to be a grim retelling of that period, set with demons, dragons, and ancient magic behind the scenes of the actual events. With Team Ninja’s track record of fast-paced, punishing action games, we can expect the game to play similarly to games such as Nioh, with an element of acrobatics and a focus on movement.
