Boy's Abyss TV Drama Unveils Main Cast Members

The TV Drama adaptation of the “suicide love story” Boy’s Abyss (Shonen no Abyss) unveiled the cast members performing in the live-action TV show. The members of the cast that have been revealed match the ones that were featured in Ryo Minenami’s illustration celebrating the adaptation

The show has cast Kitano Hinako as the idol Nagi Aoe, Miyu Honda as the protagonist’s childhood friend, Sakuko Akiyama, Natsuki Hori as the protagonist’s other childhood friend and delinquent Gen Minegishi, Rena Matsui as the homeroom teacher Yuri Shibazawa, Reiko Kataoka as Reiji Kurose’s mother Yuko Kurose, and Soko Wada as Nagi Aoe’s ex-husband, Kosaku Esemori.

The show currently has no release date.

▍Boy’s Abyss Story

Reiji Kurose lives with his mother, his shut-in brother, and dementia-ridden grandmother. Unable to bear the thought of leaving his mother alone with his family, he stays in the countryside town he was born in, despite dreaming of going to university in Tokyo.

One day he comes across the idol Nagi Aoe from the group Acrylic, who took a break from her idol activities to work as a convenience store clerk. The idol tells Reiji of a place in the town called the “Lover’s Abyss” where lovers commit suicide. The pair attempt to kill themselves but fail and Renji is rescued by his teacher. What follows is the town slowly becoming engulfed by the Abyss, warping their priorities, and Reiji soon discovers the truth behind the abyss, and how many he knows people also took the plunge.
